Hello yes I am travel
Hello. I am on the train from The Hague to Paris to get a quick lunch and then going to visit Michael’s and my family friends Sue and Rich in London. Just stopping over in Paris as one does, you know! Michael is hopefully still asleep at our other friends’ beautiful apartment in The Hague because we booked a flight for him because we are doing this whole trip incredibly last-minutedly. Which has been stressful but great! We were going to go to Venice instead of the Netherlands but then I went to Amsterdam before he got out here and realized that magic is real there and it was Michael’s and my place so we just changed all our plans and went to Amsterdam together! We fell in love with it and have decided to move there, so just a heads up that’s happening.
My on the road blogging adventure didn’t go as planned, clearly, when I couldn’t figure out how to get the URL for Flickr pictures on my phone since I find pictureless blog posts highly unsatisfying. I think… it’s good for me to write on here though so I should do it from a real computer when we get home in a few days. It’s always hard for me to decide what the right amount of internet sharing is, since on the one hand posting personal life details on the internet is very creepy but on the other hand it’s good to create things and connect with people and in unrelated news I think I am sounding like someone who just spent too much time in Amsterdam.
The talk in England went well! I gave it on Grandma Norma’s birthday and I put a picture of her in the slides in the spirit of family from Coco and I think that was nice. Then I said everything in the slide deck that I got from the Coco FX supervisor and lead and didn’t make any major gaffes. Then I got to the very last slide for the Q&A and spilled my water bottle right on top of my laptop. Just right on there. But fortunately it was my own laptop so I’m not going to get fired for it and one of the staff members running the festival immediately took my laptop and dried it off, but he left his microphone on so we could hear him saying “oh shit” and the whole ordeal turned into a good hearty larf of an icebreaker to kick off the question and answer section I think. Afterwards someone in the audience sent me an email saying she enjoyed the talk and that me spilling the water was “very relatable” and it made my day.
Then Michael and I had an amazing two weeks in Southern Europe and took a train through Switzerland to Amsterdam and everything is so great!
Okay I woke up at 5am today to do this little Paris lunch jaunt and we stayed up until almost 3 visiting with our friends last night so I’m going to submit this before I accidentally delete it or something. Sounds good. Oh man also in editing the typos out of this entry I just saw it was five years to the day between the last blog post and the one before it! What are the odds! Almost 0 odds I bet.
