A creepy stalker thing all about Duncan! How awkward for him!
Heeey everyone. So Duncan and I met three months ago today and people keep asking to hear things about him, so this seems like a good time to write a big awkward thing about how we met and stuff and stuff.
We met in Kyoto a couple days after Jono went home, when I was wandering around a temple and he came up to me and asked for directions to this path that Lonely Planet said was really neat. I think this next part is pretty funny but nobody else seems to: see, what happened was, he started asking me directions and then he paused and I waited for him to continue, and then he asked me if I spoke English because I wasn’t saying anything HAHAHAHAHA! Fine! I guess it’s not that funny! Grumble grumble grumble.
But yeah, then I was all like, hur hur, yeah I’m American, and then we had a little conversation and he said that since we were both the only white people for literally hundreds of miles around, maybe we should go to a bar that night. And then I got super freaked out because random street hittings on are one of my biggest phobias (not that I have to face it all that often but still) and told him I was thinking about going to a bathhouse so I might be busy but he acted so not-at-all rejected that he clearly wasn’t random street hitting on so I told him to meet me at my hotel afterwards and then we went to a bar and it was really fun! The only two other girls in the bar were super drunk and one of them tried to stumble to the bathroom but before she made it she threw up like a fountain and it was gross! And all the guys in the bar came over and started hitting on Duncan and it was funny. And at one point this Italian guy who was hitting on Duncan asked how we knew each other and we lied to him and told him we were cousins and it was awesome because lying to strangers in a team is so much fun!
So, yep! That’s how we met. Then the next night there was that big fire festival and we went together and then I had to leave at 8pm to catch a train to Tokyo so I could catch my flight to Paris but we agreed to meet in London a week later for my birthday! Which we did and it was excellent. And just in case I haven’t mention this yet, he’s a British, Jewish veterinarian! Which is basically why I like him. Oh plus his looks. That doesn’t make me shallow, does it? Right, didn’t think so. Look at the cuteness!
Plus he plays guitar! Swoon. But all shallowness aside, he’s one of the best people I know and he is so funny and nice annnd yep! I like him very, very much. And he’s coming to New York at the end of December and we’re going to Virginia for a couple days! So ummm, be there or be octagonal! Yup. Internet time’s running out soon so huge picture dumps will return shortly. Later!
