I'm supposed to meet some coworkers for dinner in seven minutes but Dreyfuss just got online!
Yaay, Dreyfuss! So now I’m gonna talk to him for a while and write little things in between talking to him.
It is kind of depressing moving to a new, huge city and not really knowing anyone and also working like sixty billion hours a week and then coming home and having nothing to do, but I’m really catching up on my reading and there’s so much social stuff going on at Google that it’s not a big deal. This weekend I’m going to try staying in the city instead of going home for the fifth weekend in a row, so we’ll see how depressing that gets. Maybe I’ll go to the library and see Avenue Q or something. Okay, back to pictures.
This is the view of Piazza San Marco from the Campanile. You can kind of see how tourists pay for bags of pigeon food and then the pigeons swarm all over them and coat them (in pigeon bodies, but maybe also in poo) and it’s gross. It’s like, why are you smiling, YOU’RE COVERED IN DISEASE!
Some water from when Piazza San Marco flooded, which apparently happens really frequently so they have these raised platforms for the tourists to walk around on and it’s like when you pretend the floor is hot lava and you can’t touch it.
Some archular arches.
A bridge and a restaurant with stairs that go right into the water! Also here you can see how the water looks kind of like amusement park water because it is unnaturally teal-looking.
A post thing! I don’t know.
Piazza San Marco at night with rain on the ground making everything shiny.
The exact same thing!
My adorable boyfriend! Awesome! In front of the airport, which has ferries to Venice right out front instead of a big taxi stand.
Now we’re back in Barcelona! I’ve posted a picture of these stairs before, but I didn’t know until later that they’re where Ferdinand and Isabella welcomed Columbus back from the New World! Awesome.
Jovanna’s and my last picture together! Aww, come back to me, lady!
Jovanna looking lovely at our fancy Thanksgiving dinner.
The Palace of Catalunyan Music. Neat.
The courtyard behind Gaudi’s Casa Batllo. And some girls listening to their audioguides.
Some glass in Casa Batllo. Yurp.
The airshaftey thing down the center of Casa Batllo. Yep, it’s blue.
A railing. Also in Casa Batllo! What a surprise!
Aaaaand some stained glass from Casa Batllo.
The fountain in Placa Reial (curses, is that how you spell it? The memories are fading, nooo!), which was one of Jovanna’s favorite places in the city. Not because delicious falafel and gelato were located right next door, but it helped.
The museum of modern art! Neat, I like it.
And now, two videos! For your enjoyment/time-wastement. I’m now a half hour late for dinner, so I better run. Later, duders.
