Some stuff and stuff
Hey! What’s up. I’m bored in class again. You’d think three hours of class a week wouldn’t be enough time to get bored but you’d be wrong.
So um, the weather just turned amazing in New York. That’s exciting! Also exciting: I just got tickets to visit California! I’ll be there from Wednesday, May 20th to Tuesday, May 26th if’n you want to hang out. Also I just got tickets to Leigh’s wedding in Colorado at the beginning of August! It’s my first time being a bridesmaid and it’s kind of surprisingly difficult. Because you have to plan the bridal shower and stuff and I just don’t know how to plan a grown-up-style event. The extent of my previous event-planning experience has pretty much been buying junk food and putting on the “Trapped in the Closet” DVD, but sadly I don’t think that’s gonna fly with Leigh’s extended family.
In other news, over the weekend I volunteered to grade essays for applications to a leadership scholarship at Berkeley and it was hilarious. One guy was like, “I define being a leader as setting an example for others. Like, one time I did so well at a poetry reading that it set an amazing example for everyone else who was doing a reading. My diction was soooo perfect” NEGATIVE TEN POINTS. Also someone else was like, “I am so good at physics that I will do so well at school that I will become a leader in the field of physics. I know it is true because my test scores are so good.” I don’t know if I just had a really good first group of essays or if I quickly became nauseated by all the self-aggrandizement, but by the thirtieth application I couldn’t stand any of them. Oh and also someone said “If I am accepted to Stanford…” Haha, fail.
Oh and also Eric and his high school friends and I had a picnic in Central Park over the weekend and on the way to meet them I accidentally walked into the last leg of a Parkinson’s walk and got cheered as I crossed the finish line. I felt like a bad person but there was no way out! Whoopsies.
Last Thursday, Michael Thomas’s awesome girlfriend, Jess, decided to have a Lobsterfest and she bought seven live lobsters and KILLED them. It was sad. I tried to refrain from making grossed out comments but one time I couldn’t help it because they cracked a lobster open and dumped out all the insides and it was so gross.
It waved at me with its mandible and was kind of cute and then a few minutes later it was DEAD and on a plate. I wanted them to keep one as a pet but they wanted to eat them all instead.
This is Jess. She’s dressed up like whats her face. You know the one. Trashing her life and everything. Amy Winehouse! It should be easier to remember because her name has a kind of alcohol in it. I drew the lady tattoo on her arm! It says “Sugar Britches” underneath because that’s Jess’s nickname for me because her mom has a doll named Sugar Britches that she calls SB for short and that is what everyone at work calls me!
This is Michael Thomas. He’s dressed up as a Guitar Hero guitar and Jess made the costume! These were taken on Halloween, just saying. Ok class is over, later!

I think that Lobster in the photo is Sarah Beth and Olga is right beneath it. :)
